Im graduating with a degree in biochem and plan on applying to the standard 4 year pharmacy schools. However a friend of mine said that I could even apply to 0-6 pharmacy schools because I would start in the thrid year of the program... which would give me more options for the schools that I want to apply to.

What pharmacy programs allow this?
Any in New York or any where else on the east coast?

The only one on my mind is St. Louis College of Pharmacy. In general, 0-6 schools will accept very few students into the 4 years of professional coursework.

Some 0-6 pharmacy programs are:
University of the Science in Philadelphia
Rutgers University
University of the Pacific
Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science
University of Rhodes Island
St. John's University
Long Island University

Some of theses 6 year programs allow transfers and some do not. You just have to check it out.

Those schools are more of 2+4, where you do 2 years of undergrad, and 4 years of professional courses. Some schools allow you to transfer in at the third year, others do not. In New York, students can transfer into the 3rd year, but St John's University does not allow this.

Rutgers is a 0-6 program with guaranteed admission into the pharmacy school after your second year if you meet a GPA requirement and pass the interview. They do accept transfer students after second year, but its notoriously difficult to get accepted.
