Hey all, Im kinda confused here... I wanna apply the DAY we can send our applications, but one thing is confusing me. How can u send it all the first day if u cannot make an account until the first day u can send it? Just work your ass off that day and get it all put together and press submit 4 hours later?? And also, how do i get the forms to have my proffesors send with the LOR and with my transcripts? I get outta scool on may 2nd so im not to sure how to go about this... thanx for the help!

obviously applying early is important, but i think killing yourself over submitting it the first day is a little overboard. it is better to spend a little time to submit a solid app, then to rush to submit a mediocre app.

write your personal statement beforehand (<4500 characters) and give a deadline of may 15th to professors for the LOR's. that's about all you can do early.

as soon as the application becomes available, print the LOR forms and give to the professors, print transcript form and get those sent to AADSAS, then proceed to fill out the application. your application won't be submitted to schools until everything has reached AADSAS.

i hope this made sense.

Application becomes available Mid-May.

First day to submitt is June 1st.

Ask your professors for LOR now and request transcripts, oh, and work on your pesonal statement. Then you will be all ready to submit on the June 1st.

Good luck.

don't rush too muc though, make sure there are no mistakes (spelling, grammer, ets)

duplicate post - sorry.

or are they supplementary to the actual letters?

im all confused about this damn applying. 🙁

I have this same question. What if our classes get out weeks before we can print out that LOR coversheet?

LOR are NOT required to cpmplete your AADSAS application. Only your transcripts.

You can take the DAT and send the LOR later, it will not hold up your GPA verification at AADSAS, but it will not be complete at the dental school.

I never used the coversheet....if you have a premed/dent advisor or committee, ask them to compile the letters and send it all in a big packet. I felt more comfortable doing that than risking AADSAS losing one of them. Also, that way I could offer my own explanation to my professors for what was going on and what I was asking from them.

If you don't have a committee, just be sure to explain to your professors the whole process first in an e-mail before they see the form. And they'll remember you after a few weeks, or you haven't chosen the right prof! 😀

Also, I totally agree with the whole idea of giving yourself a breather and editing time until early June. It's still very competitive, and I imagine that the very first apps sent out might have a higher percentage of grammatical errors....? No proof on that, but it's something to think about!

so what exactly are the LOR forms?

Does each prof need one...dentist also?

Are they to be filled out by the recommender? along with the letter?

thanks everyone! 😳

LOR form is a pdf file created by AADSAS when you enter the name of the person who is going to write you the letter.

You then print it, sign it and give it to the writer. The LOR writer signs it and includes it with the actual letter. On it is your name, your AADSAS ID # so the letter can be matched with your application and the name of the writer. It is there to help get all your letters into your file so it can be forwarded to the schools.

Good luck.

If we were to send our letters directly to the school, would we still need this matching form?

is this true for all schools? i am unsure, but i heard that UOP submission date is also may 15.

Alright, so dont sweat on the LOR basically? Just chill and send them out when you are ready, preferably early... So get the attachment, give it to your professor/dentist, and have them send the attachment and the LOR straight to AADSAS? awsome, sounds like a blast

My dentist is is so f*cking hot. I have to keep my hands folded on my jeans to avoid letting her know how hot I think she is. Anyway, here's to good looking dentists!
