Some PDFs support data entry, others do not. Unfortunately, the Downstate one falls into the latter category. I actually just printed this one out and filled it in by hand, demonstrating my excellent qualifications for medicine by my atrocious handwriting.

seriously? this is my last secondary to turn in, and i have everything typed up and ready to paste into the pdf...i haven't tried it yet, was going to print it all out this weekend. did everyone handwrite downstate?

Well it mentioned that for the quesitons you have to answer you may attach another sheet of paper.

I just did mine in Word and printed it out.

(My handwriting looks like I'm in third grade).

What I did was handwrite the initial info like name, address, premed prereqs, etc. And then for questions 10 through 13 I attached a separate sheet of paper, typewritten, that had those responses.

I guess you could theoretically use a typewriter. Now how would you go about finding one of those... 🙂

if you have adobe acrobat, you can put in text on the pdf
otherwise, you write it all out.

speaking of downstate applications, I got a letter a few days ago asking for additional information. Did anyone else get something like this? I was employed part time for about 6 months, and they wanted to know what my other activities were during that time (I wasn't in school). I volunteered at two different places and also took an art class, and this is all in my AMCAS (under extracurriculars). My guess is that they didn't look at the dates carefully enough.

I sent them all the additional info, but I'm wondering if this is a bad sign.
