Confused After Seeing Conflicting Advice About Letters of Intent (LOI)

I've seen conflicting advice about mentioning the schools you've been already been accepted to in LOI's. Some people say LOI's are basically worthless if you don't try to use them as a bargaining chip and some say that it's a major faux pas.

1) they shouldn't be plural
2) likely useless
3) no harm if concisely sharing an honest intent to show up
4) they aren't bargaining chips
 
With a few exceptions (I think Georgetown likes getting letters of continued interest from the people they waitlist for example) letters simply expressing interest with no update included are going to have no effect at all

It depends on the school. Some schools like Georgetown and Jefferson are needy and love to watch applicants grovel (as @Goro likes to say). Other schools don't care and view them as fluff.
 
LOI is the equivalent of begging IMO. They don't deserve it.
