Her "magic thinking" just might land her with a 30 or better if she takes it again. She needs to give herself an honest appraisal of how she prepped for the MCAT and if she can do it better. If she truly poured her soul into it, go DO and don't even waste another second. If she did a half@ssed review because she was in a state of perpetual panic, she might be able to do better.
The test ain't perfect. With such a limited number of questions they can ask from so many hundreds of topics, there really is a bit of luck in getting familiar questions. The 28 could have been the fluke because she got luck or the 25 could have been the fluke with passages that she simply struggled with--she should have a pretty good idea which one it was.
