I was just wondering what the dry erase situation is like. Is it a laminated sheet or is it a board? How big is this board and do you only get one? I also write very small and was wondering if the markers are fine point or the crappy thick kind you see in school for whiteboards.

i dont know how big they are but i called up the testing center that im taking the test at and they said they give out 2 boards (front and back) and 2 markers. i dont know if its the same everywhere. they also said that the marker is a bit thicker than a pen but i dont know how true that is...

When I took it I had a pink laminated sheet with gridlines. It was the same size as a regular sheet of paper and they gave me two sheets, which you can use front and back. The markers I got were pretty crappy and weren't really fine tips (they were supposed to be..but with so many people using it it just became thick).

for the money we pay to take this test, you think they would provide you with some new markers...

I think you can go to a KAPLAN center and buy them! They provide you with 3 laminated sheets and 4 markers (They are not fine point markers). I suggest you purchase the laminated sheet and the markers and start practicing with them; otherwise, this will become very frustrating during your exam!

Yea, you would think from how much money we pay for this test and how much it determines our future, there wouldn't be so many of these horror stories I keep hearing like markers drying out or being worn out, etc. I feel like everyone's testing experiences are so unique and inconsistent from one another (e.g., computer freezing/shutting off or fire alarm going off). I just called the testing center and she wasn't much help at all. She was just like "we provide you with whatever the DAT allows us to." And I asked her what that was and she said she wasn't sure haha. I asked her if the markers they use at the center were fine point and she was like "I think so." Great customer service they have there!

I'm left handed it is going to be a total pain trying not to erase what I've written as my hand goes over it...not happy

I had the WORST experience with the dry erase stuff. The boards got so messy and hardly erased. ALSO the pens straight up both died on both my PAT and QR sections. I was sooo pissed that I let the guy know afterwords.

yeah my pens were so ****ty that they kept erasing as i wrote....coz i write cursive and no matter how hard I try even my individual letters are like that. The markers suck. I wish I could use pencil and paper somehow. OMG ....could that be claimed as special accommodation for some disability???

u can but them on scienceaide.com

I just ordered. I hope these are the ones that are given at prometric. And I am just going to get fine point dry erase markers since it seems that is the consensus on what they give. Thanks for the website!
