Confusing as hell Gen Chem Problem

50 mL of H2SO4 requires 50 mL of 1M NaOH, for complete neutralization reaction, what is the molarity of the acid; using the following formula:

2 NaOH + H2SO4 -> Na2SO4 + 2H2O

The answer is 0.5, which I dont quite get. Am i supposed to do this based on the NMV = NMV formula? If so then the answer would be 2, meanwhile if I use the equation above I get 1M, I don't get why they get 0.5. Did they somehow combine this as a limiting reagent problem?

(Na)(Ma)(Va) = (Nb)(Mb)(Vb)
(2)(Ma)(50 mL) = (1)(1 M)(50 mL)
Ma = 0.5 M

I am retarted and do not know how to divide! jesus I was doing this backwards hahahah thanks rock lol damn it! thats when you know you've been studying all day and your brain is fried!
