I have a quick question guys. I am looking at a specific place to do a rotation in the future and I wanted to see what something meant exactly.....On this hospitals website it says regarding rotations....
Do you accept elective rotations from other medical schools?
Elective rotations by medical students in good standing at LCME accredited medical schools are accepted on a space available basis for fourth year students. Application is made through Debbie Likon
At the same time, it the hospital is DO/MD approved.
What is the status of your residency programs?
All programs are fully accredited by either the ACGME or AOA ( American Osteopathic Association). In addition the Medical Center is fully accredited as a training site for Graduate Medical Education.
What confuses me is that LCME approved means a MD granting institution yet it also says its a teaching hospital for NYCOM. So I guess I am confused exactly what they mean. Are MD and DO students allowed to rotate there or not?
Thanks guys
