I've been narrowing down the best books for bio and verbal. Yes, I've searched and read a lot of what people have been saying, but these posts are at least 2 years old. For biology, I've narrowed it down to either TPRH Bio(content) and TPRH Science workbook(passages) or EK Bio(content) and TBR(passages). For verbal, supposedly it's EK Verbal/Math strategy and EK 101/TPRH Verbal workbook for passages. Are these right? So what are the best combination of books(content and passages) for both subjects? Thanks 👍

EK Bio for content and EK Verbal 101 Passages. I just used what was in the EK Bio book for bio practice, though it's likely far from the best source for bio questions. It worked fine for me, though, but I felt strong in bio from the get-go.

EK101 and TPRH VW for verbal are ideal.

For bio, I've heard in other threads that TPRH SW passages are most like the real thing, but some people seem to disagree saying that nothing is like the real thing and that TBR is thus best because at least it prepares you for having to think through scary passages by giving you nothing but WTF passages. When it comes to content though people seem to place TBR and TPRH about the same. EK seems to be a favorite for people who already feel pretty confident about their bio knowledge.

I like TBR bio and EK 101 for verbal. I know TBR bio is really in depth, but I'm actually doing much better on their bio section than on any other section FWIW. But I like bio and understand it pretty well.

Any other opinions out there? Seems to be that the safe bet is to go with EK bio for content and TBR for passages(and for some further review on some topics EK doesn't go in depth) and use EK101 and TPRH verbal workbook for verbal practice.

do tprh bio (content) tbr passages, tprh sw passages =]

Did you use tbr for verbal passages as well?

Did you use both books for verbal? I'm guessing that's PLENTY of practice. BTW, I read your latest entry in your blog and LOLed at "[TBR] is quite soothing.." I heard it makes you 😴

Nah. Just one book for verbal. I'm actually reading bio now. It is soothing. I typically read about 20 pages or so... puts me in a nice sleepytime mood. And hopefully I dream of partial pressures and renal physiology as I slumber 😀 Glad you liked the blog entry. 🙂
