Consensus on O-chem

Premeds and others who intend to take o-chem think it is hard, but in my opinion it is on the overall easy except when you have data with IR, NMR, UV, and MS and you asked to figure out 6 nasty structures as well as determine mechanisms of 10 other aromatic and pericyclic reactions in a 1.5 hour test. Now this is hard!

Yes, I had a hellish NMR/IR problem on an exam that absolutely killed me. I thought up this elaborate structure that matched the data (or so I thought) and it turned out to be something else. Difference between 'A' and 'B' right there.

I wouldn't say o-chem is easy for the most part. It was quite difficult, in my opinion.
