I'm noticing that I can usually narrow the answers down 2 choices, but then I have a hard time distinguishing between correct and incorrect. A common pattern I've noticed here is that once I read the incorrect answer, half of it will be correct and the other half I'm just unsure about. Due to being unsure about the second half, I think "maybe I just didn't come across this detail while reading" and start leaning towards choosing it...

Any tips on how to fix this problem?

Come up with your own answer to the question before reading the answer choices. The answer choices are put there by people who know what common mistakes pre-meds make and so they are designed to make you fall into those traps. If you come up with your own answer and then match it to one of the ones in the choices, then you can be confident that your answer is correct.
