contact lens question

I just ordered a refill on my contact lenses. I normally wear biomedics, but it seems that the mail order company that I ordered from is sending me optimedics. The mail order company stated that these two 'brands' are the exact same lens; only the name of the box is different. Is it true that these contacts are the same exact thing? If they are, why are the contacts being sold under different names? It seems that life gets more complicated by the day 🙄
