Hi, I posted a similar thread on reddit, but wanted more advice. So I was complete on my TMDSAS app in late May. I did have an MCAT retake pending which didn't come till the end of August. One school gave me an II before I even retook the MCAT.

Since that one interview and the new MCAT score in August (highest score on MCAT), it has been DEAD silent. Did get a Dell secondary earlier in mid-October though. But nothing since then.

Should I contact the schools and kinda give an update/ask what's up? My lizzy is roughly 71ish and hearing a lot of my friends getting prematches and IIs is really discouraging for me (but incredibly happy for them, because they're going to be doctors!!!). Especially considering we've passed Thanksgiving.

Thanks so much in advance!

Im wondering the same thing. Are schools still sending out interviews? Im feeling very discouraged as it seems the interview window is coming to a close....

I ordinarily would not advise contacting the schools just to ask "what's up?". In your case, though, I think you may have been "screened out" on the basis of your first and presumably lower MCAT score.

How did you notify the schools of your new score? With an email, or just by sending the score in? Have you improved your application in any other way since August?

With the window of opportunity for interviews almost closed, I think an update email to all the schools where you have not interviewed would be worth your time. You will want to make it short, positive, and highlight your new score and any other things like awards, research, publications that have happened since May.

I did NOT notify any school about my new MCAT score because I thought TMDSAS would do that, as I sent that score in to TMDSAS right when I got the higher score. Maybe I should write all schools a letter in coming days to express immense interest and give an update on my life. It's just upsetting that I feel like I have very strong ECs, as well as above average MCAT and GPA. Not really sure where I went wrong this cycle.. But hoping for the best in the next few months!
