Done did it last wk.
Then passed it on to about 20 people.

Just did it. In case any of you think you're too busy, it only took me about 2 minutes to edit and send the form letter they have available on the website...it even figures out who your congressman/woman is for you! No excuses not to send something!

Yawn... Lobbyin' ,Bobbyin' , Dobbyin'. Ya'all can write a gazillion letters to all the heads of state and it ain't goin' to change the direction of the train: Reimbursement will continue to go down while everything else goes up. 4% this year, 2% the next, yada, yada, yada. Give me somethin' to rally around like not accepting any forms of insurance-- I only want cash, check or credit card, just like the plumber gets when he's gotta fix that busted water pipe... ----Regards, ----Zippy

I did this months ago, got a reply back from my congressman about the wrong topic, funny, didnt seem like he was really on top of things 🙄

To a degree i agree w/ guys like (zip and laryngo). However, I did send the letter to my congressman...will it work? well if i dont send it I wont ever know.

having said that, i think it's because we (med students/docs/residents) slacked off so much in terms of being politically active that NOW....we have this issue w/ CRNAs and midlevels trying to take bigger pieces of OUR pie. We can sit back and say, well nothing is going to change. However, the reality of the matter is that the CRNA lobby group is HUGE and effective. Guys, it's time for us to step it up or else, as you say Zip...our reimbursements, etc will be close to nil.


Anyone know who the ASA's lobby guy is? I thought it was this guy named Ron Szabat (he's the ASA lawyer I think). Whoever it is, we need to really ask him/support him to drive home our interests. Sure, we didnt go into Anesthesiology just for the $$...at the same time I dont want to come out just barely mking a primary care dude's salary (LOL I'm sure JetPro can attest to that).

I know Ron - he is superb at what he does. The Governmental Affairs Office that he runs has an excellent staff of lobbyists and lawyers - they are well known and recognized around the Congressional office buildings.
