I recently submitted my AMCAS and upon submission, I realized that I made a few errors on it! I contacted a few schools and some responded that they'll hold it until my application gets in and some said to email them again once I submit my supplementals/secondaries. I was just wondering......

1. If it gets changed at one of the schools I applied at, do I need to get it changed in all the other ones? (because I applied to quite a few...). Will schools contact each other in regards to the AMCAS application? I don't want them to contact each other and see that "oh, he made changes to AMCAS at one school and not ours..." (Or am I just worried for thinking about it?)

2. Will this negatively impact my application process/review?

Any response or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Unfortunately...it is. It's probably stupid questions and concerns but I'm really contemplating those equations right now! LOL. This process is really getting on to me..and it's only been like 15 days into the cycle....

Is this real

That's what I thought when I saw it.

First, why would the schools communicate with each other? Each school is separate.

Second, what did you mess up on? Did you misspell a word, put the wrong month in for something, or say that you worked 20,000 hours saving the lives of million of people when you actually only helped a lady cross the street and hold the door open when people are behind you?

LOL. Yeah....now I feel like I'm thinking too much into this...

I had incorrect parental information and ......really the wrong month for something for my ECs by like 2 months..... and that's it.

LOL. Yeah now that I've said it out loud in my head..I realized how ridiculous that sounds. So I shouldn't contact any more schools in regards to this? Because my mind is bursting thinking about the other schools I have to contact in the East Coast....

From what I have seen on the boards here, the schools will check your EC only if they think it sounds too good to be true. And you over estimated by 2 months? How long was your activity? Was it something that went on for 2 years or something that was only a week long (AKA, start on January 28 and go until February 9) and then you listed it as 2 months?

I was involved in this research project for half a year. But following the presentation of my research, it ended. (December to May) I said that it ended in June because I got it mixed up with my other research projects that ended in June! (I mean I rather said it was shorter than longer just because I feel that saying it longer sort of gives the impression that I tried to extend it when it didn't really last that long...). Since I received credit for research, I just stupidly said it ended in June... because I just graduated!

Good luck w the next 12 months bro.

thanks. this process is definitely turning me into a complete lunatic. I just called a few schools and they told me it was fine and that they get quite a few of these emails around this time from applicants... that's somewhat reassuring..

lol it's okay, it turns everyone into a lunatic.

I deleted half of a description for an EC. It still made sense with just the half I left, just wasn't as good. I freaked out naturally. This process causes anxiety, don't feel bad about it as long as you can mitigate it. It sounds like your mistakes will cause zero problems. You'll stop caring once you give it a couple days to sink in how little it matters.

thanks! I feel a lot calmer now. I'll just stop contacting now and leave the ones I contacted alone. If they add it, they'll add it onto my file. Or I'll just contact during secondaries if its still on my mind. I'm going to stop looking at my submitted application now just in case I find another one and freak out even more.

i definitely need to take up some hobbies during this year just to get my mind off of med school apps.
