contacts while taking a shower?

I've done this several times mistakenly. I woudl forget i have contacts in my eyes and i end up going into the shower with it. Is this okay to do?

i didn't know that you can't wear contacts in the shower.

Although the risk is small, I wouldn't advise taking a shower with your contact lenses. There are bacteria in tap water, and if you use well water, then it could even be worse. One of the worst things that can happen is Acanthamoeba Keratitis:

I put on my contacts every morning before I jump into the shower. DOh😳

hmmm. my optometrist told me that wearing contacts in the shower is ok, swimming is of course a big NO-NO
