So on most secondaries, there is a section to explain any breaks in your educational history. If I had to take time off/go on part-time status because of a medical condition that required surgery, had a long recovery period (albeit not because of the severity of the condition), and subsequent complications:

(1) How detailed do I need to explain my health situation? - Not too in-depth, I'd imagine.
(2) Do I need to reflect on it and how it makes me a better physician? - Right now, I'm basically talking about work/life balance, being comfortable with just doing your best (i.e. not lamenting the fact that an unfortunate situation is crippling your productivity in someway), and the maturity associated with those.

Any thoughts? Part of me doesn't think it's important to note introspection for medically-related educational break, but it was a stressful situation in my life and I did grow from it. Or it just doesn't matter either way.
