So this semester I decided to repeat a 400 level genetics course and take stats, and as of right now seems like the genetics course is not going well. The first time I took it I received a D, and now seems like I am going at the D direction again. Is it better to drop it or continue with a in hopes of not receiving a D. This is a hard course with only 2 exams and nothing else. Teacher is not really helping when not understanding thing, I have decided upon using other sources for help too but not helping. My current GPA is at a 2.9. Any suggestions would help???

I'd say drop it if the highest grade u can get is a C.

I went through the same thing. Basically, stay in the class if you can still make a B. And do whatever it takes. That means doing something different (and probably more uncomfortable) than you did last time, or else you're asking for a repeat performance. I know, it seems in your head that you would naoturally do better having seen the material before, but bviously it wasen't learned proprly the first time around. Do all the practice problems in the book if you have to. Upper level classes are a pain in the ass, and you need to kick them back in the ass to do well. The highest grade at this time is a D. The first time was a 200 level course. It state that this was similar to my 200 level course but nothing similar to it. Its a 400 level with lab. Thanks for the input, I have tried my best, even got supplemental books and dummies for genetics but there is only 2 test in the class with no other options.

What's the highest grade you could theoretically make in the class, as of right now?

drop it while you still have a chance. There is a warning though that a W might slightly affect your chance in pharmacy school cos it raises a red flag when they're reviewing your applications. If the best that you can get is a C then that's okay. But if you are getting a D or a F then I'd say yeah a W is much better than those two grades.🙂
