As applications come up it's absolutely important that i get my priorities straight.

Let me give you a brief description of my who i am in college. I'm that guy who will skip classes to stay in bed and fool around with girls and end up getting notes from friends.
I'm that guy who's done it in libraries and lecture halls. I'm that crazy party goer at every school.

I have my DAT in a few weeks and Im not sure how I'm going to be able to make time for it. I mean have a 3.7 oGPA and 3.67 sGPA, so I'm not too afraid to take it cuz chances are I probably already prepped myself somewhat for it throughout the course of taking my classes.

So i dunno. Do i have to reduce the amount of time hooking up or has anyone done both (not at the same time obviously).
 
With a 3.7 your fine, just read a DAT review book once over a couple days before the test and you will kill it. Got to keep your priorities straight.

How else have you been preparing for the DAT? Have you taken practice tests or used the supplementary materials (Kaplan, Destroyer, Topscore, etc.) to see where you're at?

If you're really serious about killing the DAT on your first try, I'd say switch off or tone down the party boy mode for a few weeks and buckle down on your studies. Save the sex and hooking up until after you're done studying.

Again, its up to you. You know yourself best. If you want dental school that bad, then I trust you'll get your priorities straight and make the right decisions.

P.S. I do however have one friend who could literally study and ____ at the same time. Literally did the "woohoo" with his gf while going through his flash cards. No idea how he did it, but he got into med school. lol
 
I really doubt that this guy is real 🙂 He may do all the receptionists at the Prometric center while taking the DAT 😀

Put what you just said in your personal statement and just wing the DAT bro. You'll be fine.
 
First off, simply getting A's and B's in your classes does in no way prepare you for the DAT. Most people who do well on the DAT study for 4-8 hours a day for 4-8 weeks. Maybe you are a genius, a sexually charged genius, that can bust it out in 2-3 weeks. Either way, you need to get down to business.

I think you can do both, it just comes down to time management. Plan a hour of your day for sex and spend the rest studying. Balancing sex life and studying is easy to do, even going out on weekends. My guess is that you are wasting a lot of time sleeping, hanging out, eating, watching TV, etc the rest of the hours of your day. Schedule your day better, still have sex, and start studying A LOT!!

Perhaps I'm too much of a feminist, but I find your post arrogant to the extent that it is repulsive! If the desire of having intercourse is so much of a distraction that you have to post it, then I suggest you go see a therapist.

Dude, NOBODY studies for the DAT. And so long as your GPA is upwards of 2.9, you're golden. I mean, seriously, it's not like we're applying to med school or anything. Sounds to me like you've got your priorities straight! Please send me a PM. I think you're my dream man. 😍

That moment the OP realizes he's not going to get any interviews because of his bad DAT score, his grades are lowering because he's no longer taking easy lower division classes, and he gets notified that he has an STD.

wow. A lot of butthurt ppl here for such a post that shouldn't have been as provocative as people make it out to be...assuming that iM gonna get STDs and my GPA is going to plummet. mmm okay...love the logic.

and for those who think im trolling, whatever helps you sleep at night lol. don't try to bring others down just cuz ur not getting laid geez.

but going back to the point, zi think it is a legitimate addiction and an issue to bring up.

I think you can find the answer to your question in UltimateHombre's post. Just manage your schedule better. If this addiction is really taking up your entire day for studying, then that's a problem. Doing well on the DAT requires lots of sacrifices. We all did. Consider this to be the your ultimate test. Listen to Eminem's "Till I Collapse," search for that inner strength, push aside your addiction, and hit the books. Good luck. Let us know how you do.
 
Oh and one more piece of advise. Don't reply to each and every person with another negative comment. It'll only feed add fuel to the flame war and they get ugly. I've seen some bad ones on SDN and this thread seems to be headed in that direction. The moderators might have to shut this one down.
