Personal challenge essay. I've dealt with trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder) since I was a little kid. I've had bald spots in high school and missing eyebrows that people called me out for. It made it really hard to be taken seriously during job interviews and socializing because I was embarrassed about my habit. I was going to talk about how I learned that it was induced by stressful situations and learned how to manage it eventually throughout college. I haven't done it in over a year now.
I have other ideas, but just thought this one would be really personal. Hopefully not too personal? Would this be taboo to talk about or write about? I know there's some bias against talking about mental illness. Not sure if this would be on equal level with something like depression.
Thank you for any input!
