An 8 sounds about right. The percentages and the corresponding scaled score don't move too much from test to test. Some verbal sections are easier than others, which just means that 11 wrong on one might be an 8 whereas on another it could be a 7, or even a 9. But it won't move more than up or down one point.

54/65 does not sound like an 8. I remember doing practice AAMC before and a 48/60 was like a 10. 54/65 sounds like a 10, not an 8.

54/65 is darn good. 10+ for sure...

I thought/hoped that for awhile, but I think the questions on AAMC 1 are much easier then on the other official practice tests. I double-checked the VR section, and 54/65 is definitely 50th percentile.

I was going by the percentile-and 50th percentile is definitely around an 8. AAMC 1 is much easier than the later tests, so that's probably why. Usually 10 wrong or so is around a 10 converted score, but that's for the later exams.

AAMC 1 is completely useless... the test has changed so much since that came out.

I saw you talking about some of the scores and decided to ask your opinion. So I just took a VR practice section from the free mcat test online 3R on the e-mcat site.

Anyway I got a 9. This is my first test and I have not practiced or studied for it yet. I just wanted to get a feel for where I am. So is there any hope of me improving much, is this a decent first time no practice score?
