I took the test on the third and, since I definitely agree that study advice is worthless without scores, I thought a way to help everyone out would be to take pictures of a few of the more interesting questions on my exam.
I was actually kind of surprised it was so easy to do this, I asked the people at the prometric center thinking it was a longshot, but they were like "No problem bro!" and I was like "Cool thanks man" and they were like "You aren't going to do anything lame with those pics are you?" and I was like "Naw, just post them on a board full of medical students who are studying for the test" and they were like "OK no prob have a good test!"
Anyhow, a lot of what's been said before showed up on my test, like if there was a question with a lot of answer choices it was more straightforward. These also had a strange kind of humanity to them. I think the NBME has one dude locked in a room alone that they've forced to write questions about ACE inhibitors and cough for the last 80 years. Here are a few of his:
Also, lots of my questions had pictures. These tended to fall into two categories: easy and bizarre.
Finally, there were a few ones that just defied definition; fortunately for me im awesome and smell good so these were no problem.
We'll see how it all turns out, but I hope the above helps. I know that by the time I took the test I was borderline going crazy and retaining nearly nothing so I guess I can take solace in the fact that I left it on the field.
GLGLGL to all who've yet to take it; hi to Marlon, John and LaKedra!
