Emailed the admissions office, but no reply. Just wondering if anyone knew if Cornell had a student host program? Also, anyone know of the closest airport to Cornell?

In case they don't have a student host program, anyone know of any good hotels nearby?

Thanks

flying into nyc your options are laguardia, jfk and newark

laguardia airport is closest to manhattan.

cornell is 68th and york i believe.

they have a student host program as far as i know

You can get a shuttle service to take you from Laguardia to Cornell (and back if you like)....it's about 15-19$ each way. If you were coming from Kennedy, you could take the A subway line into Manhattan and get a cab from there...

And just call the Cornell office to get set up with a student host. The admissions office even keeps a few cots for interviewees so you shouldn't end up sleeping on the floor 🙂

the A train from JFK takes a long time and it wont drop you off any where near cornell so i dont suggest that. the A is the 8th ave express train and cornell is on the east side. anyway, taking a cab to anywhere in manhattan from JFK costs $45 flat rate (used to be $35 but we can thank Moneymaker Mike B for that) fly into LGA and take a cab. or if you are really into trains, you can take the 7 train all the way from LGA into grand central 42nd street and then get on the uptown 6 train to 68th and lexington. (hunter college stop) then you walk 2 blocks south and a couple blocks east till you hit york. there might be an easier way to do this using buses and stuff but i dunno.
def call cornell admissions office for host. or any friends you have in the city. i dont know of any cheap hotels.
