Hey all, for those who interviewed for the Cornell Research track for heme/onc, did you receive an e-mail recently asking to verify you wanted to be considered for the research track? If so, did the e-mail say anything about being considered for the NYP/Cornell Heme/Onc as well as the sloan kettering program? I was under the impression if accepted into the research track program and wanted to do heme/onc, you'd have an option for either fellowship program.

Thanks!

Have you emailed or called them? With rank lists due so soon, I'd probably just go ahead and make a polite inquiry. There'd practically be nothing to lose on your end.

Hey! I actually did, and got a response back today saying if I would match, a spot would be guaranteed in the cornell heme/onc program only.. I guess this clarifies it but I am confused now as everyone I spoke to on the interview day said you would have an option for sloan vs cornell. Hmm.. Can anyone shed light on this?

You have an option...if it's offered to you. I was offered only the Cornell option. Dropped the place way down on my list.

I wound up interviewing for fellowship at MSKCC the next year and then, when I matched higher than them, got a "why didn't you rank us higher, we really wanted you" email which was kind of nice.

Ah, thanks so much for that clarification. I guess I sucked up the interview day 🙁
I am glad I inquired because as you said, it certainly will change the way I rank the program.
Thanks!

Ah, give yourself some credit, dude! It doesn't sound like they give that many people the option of fast-tracking into MSKCC.
