Hi,

Had a Cornell interview recently in which they told us they don't decide on applicants until March. But in the acceptances thread it looks like they let some people know earlier. Can anyone tell me about how this process works? Were they lying in the intervie?

Thanks

No, they're not rolling. They give out a *few* MD acceptances in December at the same time that they give out a bunch of MD/PhD acceptances, but the majority of the acceptances come in March (as you were told -- they're not lying 🙂 ).

CU did kinda the same thing: majority of acceptances in March and a trickle beforehand. I think they say that so applicants don't get their panties all in a wad if they don't hear right away, therefore the admissions office isn't bombarded with questions. I ended up hearing from CU with an acceptance like the 19th of October, and I don't think that I'm anything special. 😳

So Cornell's doing the same thing. Best to just believe that you're waiting til March and if you hear something sooner then good for you! 😀
