I know someone last year who called admissions who said not taking gen chem I or II was fine. I'm putting the courses they told me to use instead, but should I talk to admissions myself?

+1 OOS MD/PhD. @wysdoc, prompts are the same as MD except for:

Question 1 is instead please write a brief statement giving your reasons for applying to the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program. There is also an additional question: "Please list the names of any Tri-Institutional faculty members with whom you would like to do research. You do not need to list reasons. Names are sufficient." Both are 1525 characters

See their prerequisites listed here: HERE
They don't specify exactly which chem classes you take, only that you have 2 semesters with lab.

Anyone else had this message saying "An error has occurred. Please retry" when submitting?

does anyone know if the cornell secondary is typically time-sensitive?

For the COVID-19 prompt, would it look negatively if I do not write anything? Most of COVID-19 happened while I was in HS, so not sure how applicable it would be for my application

It is not specific to academics. It could be about having to stay home and missing whatever, friends or family members falling sick, you doing something to help the elderly in the neighborhood - lot of things happened to everyone during covid.

Peak of COVID was also in HS for me, I'm planning to write about how I used the extra time to work in service industries and what I learned from that!

+1 IS received

for the WIC are we going to have to submit the 10 pages of writing me did for each later down the road as samples? Why does it ask for these courses twice - prereq fill in and secondary app?

"[For courses that have combined lecture and lab, list the course(s) [e.g., Biology 101/L] in "Assign Course - section one." We can see courses are combined.]"

For the prereqs, if I have a combined lab and lecture class, do I only put it in the lecture section? I want to make sure I'm interpreting this right. (Do they see that it's combined from ur amcas app?)

I'm wondering since they phrase it as "special circumstances"--if there's nothing truly unique that happened to me (beyond losing in person classes/in person research/volunteering/etc, general stress) is it wise to write this essay? anyone have thoughts?

That's how I interpreted it and left the Section 2 for Lab blank! I think they can see it's combined via AMCAS

Has anyone received a confirmation email when they submitted their secondaries and prereqs? Submitted mine in the beginning of the week and still haven't received a confirmation.

honestly I didn't have anything remarkable to write about either. I decided to just try to avoid reader fatigue rather than filling prompt with fluff about how I couldn't volunteer at the hospital or that I missed my friends... we've had time to make up for that by this point. just my opinion, good luck with whatever you decide 🙂

me too! I emailed them and they haven't gotten back to me. This might just be a system-wide thing and hopefully its fine
