all of the for profit correctional health companies are horrible. They often lobby for aggressive incarceration policies because it's good for business and often get slapped with malpractice suits. I have worked with Liberty and they might be less bad than the others but the jail programs are usually psychologist led, and they don't provide immunity for contractors (they have a unilateral indemnification clause). The jails are full of psychotic inmates which is not good for telehealth. In contrast, the prison population is more stable and appropriate for telehealth but they don't use private contractors or allow telehealth from home (with very limited exceptions).
As the story goes, jails not run directly by counties can be sketchy.all of the for profit correctional health companies are horrible. I see psychotic jail inmates but our county tries to get psychiatrists off the cases, so they end up suing the county.
Seens basically the options are state hospital tele and less often state prisons.
Glad I'm the only one in this week so I don't have to explain to the office why I just burst out laughingWow, there is a correctional mental health service called "Liberty"?

The call it liberty because, like the mental health service, the inmates don't get any.Glad I'm the only one in this week so I don't have to explain to the office why I just burst out laughing
