Would Ciprofloxacin cure Chlamydia and Gonorrhea if taken for 7 days 2x a day at 500mg.

Would Ciprofloxacin cure Chlamydia and Gonorrhea if taken for 7 days 2x a day at 500mg.

The Gonorrhea should clear with that however the 2002 MMWR by the CDC does not list Ciprofloxacin as an agent to clear Chlamydia. Checking the new AAFP guidelines Ciprofloxacin isn't listed either.

Just remember that Cipro is c/i in pregnancy so a test should be administered to confirm absence of pregnancy first.

s'posed to add doxy or azithromycin to the cipro to cover the chlamydia part as far as i know.
