Could I include this course in my BCPM gpa?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Your the person listing classes as BCPM on the application. So if you feel it should be classified as such, then include it. It might get reversed in the audit process but there is an appeal process for that.

Hey everyone! I just calculated my BCPM gpa and it's not all that wonderful (3.3--thank you intensive calc). However, I'm a postbacc and in undergrad, I took a 4000-level developmental psychology course that included a lecture and lab (3 credit lecture, 2 credit lab). I received A's in both, so 5 credits worth of 'A' would help my GPA a bit. Question is, would medical schools include this as part of the BCPM gpa, since it was a lecture/lab course?I didn't take it in a science dept obviously, but just hanging onto some hope here 🙂 Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

no. developmental psych =/= bcpm. The amcas gods will punish you for listing it as such.

I graduated with a BA in psych and I would have to say no. I wouldn't include it unless the majority of the class focused on bio/chem and how that affects behavior. For example, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, biopsychology, psychopharmacology, and other classes like that may qualify for the B section in BCMP.

Psychology is a social science, not a natural science; I wouldn't include it in your BCPM GPA.
