I'm planning on sending an update letter to the schools that I haven't heard from since being complete in September and was wondering if I could include a recent job that I just started in the past month. I'm actually working at a grocery store at the moment just for some steady income during my gap year and wasn't sure if this would be something that medical schools would really heed or consider relevant enough to include in the letter. What do you guys think?

Not an expert but I don't really see this is very impressive. You can include it but I wouldn't spend much time on it. Probably not going to turn heads. Sorry if that's disappointing.

Edit, These kinds of jobs do make you seem like you can relate to others, but again, it's a line item not the focus.

Thanks! Yeah, I was just thinking of mentioning it as an aside, since trying to relate it too much to the "client satisfaction" and "dealing with people" side might be stretching too much.

I would mention it, but obviously the emphasis should be on more relevant work/activities. If you're working in a managerial position, that's something else; leadership experience is definitely a good thing to touch on!
