alright may 11th mcaters, the time is close!!! 12 more days!! what's everyone doing to pass the time?? i'm a nervous wreck..lol

dideoxy.....I hope you are on the west coast...because I would think sleeping until 5pm EST (seems to be the going rate for score release), is very difficult, unless you can stay awake until at least say 6 am. :laugh:

But I agree, I only told a few that the actual score comes tomorrow....so hopefully that will hold most of the pain off....until the rest of the world (who I made sure knew I was studying) realizes I never said anything about a score....😱

I just asked one of the AMCAS ppl who I had called about a question about what time they would release the scores but she said they didn't know. I guess I can always check every 5 minutes like I had planned on. :idea:

the amcas people wouldn't know though would they? they are sort of separate from the mcat people. they are all affiliated with aamc but different divisions i think. i tried calling the mcat people and was on hold for like 15 minutes and then realized that i was wasting my time because they probably wouldnt tell me anything anyway. i think i might try again though. how could they not know? it's tomorrow! why won't they tell us anything???😕

he seemed very relaxed about it. i was like "hi, i was wondering if you could give me an idea of when the mcat scores will be released tomorrow?"

and he said "hmmm probably late afternoon. i would start checking around 3pm."

no big deal right? i think i will sleep very well tonight and have a very productive day at work tomorrow. 🙄

...and anyone else that is in the same boat as me. there aren't many of us here. we can certainly all get great scores without hurting the curve! 😍

Not to make everyone want to check their scores over and over throughout the day, but no one truly knows when the scores will come out. I can tell you from my 3 experiences (all in Eastern time):

August Paper MCAT - 10PM the night before
January Computerized MCAT - 9:00AM
April Computerized MCAT - 4:00PM

Nothing anyone says on this board can change the fact that I have severe OCD, and have been checking Thx since May 11th, around 6 pm.

I'm soooo nervous and scared! I can't stop thinking about tomorrow! This waiting is getting on my nerves! I've been kind of cranky today and keeping to myself 🙁

I really hope people I know don't badger me about what I got because I really don't think I'll be sharing my scores with anyone but my family and sdn. 😛 Anyone else feel dreading people asking them how they did?

Wow, I did best on VR... that is surprising because VR was my worst section for the practice tests.

It's actually really easy to not share your scores:
Friend: How'd you do?
Me: I did well. I'm happy with my scores.
If they keep pushing for a number, just say "I'm happy with how I did, and the rest is none of your biz-nass!"
And leave it at that. No one needs to know your scores unless you want them to. But most people won't ask any more questions if you say that you're happy with it (the number doesn't mean anything to anyone except pre-meds and docs anyway).

I found that telling people the percentiles got the point across. E.g., a "12 out of 15 in PS" might make them think that you basically got a weak B- (since that's what 80% would be in school), but saying that you scored in the 90-95th percentile and that it means that out of every hundred people only 5-10 scored as high as you did or better drives the point home.

I had to travel to Dallas to take the test. Out of all the major cities in Texas, only Dallas and San Antonio had a spot in one or so test center - and that was in February!!
So to me it looks like a lot of people took the test May 11...

How many times have you guys hit the re-fresh button on the AAMC website for the MCAT today? I've probably only hit it 30 times, but that was because I was away from a computer from 9:00-5:00 and 6:00-9:00. How many hits do you think the website has gotten today?

Did you enter it? I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I think when the time comes and your score is available, you can choose to send it to AMCAS or something like that. Just make sure when you submit your app that every part is complete.

my least favorite phrase in the world right now may very well be: "You have no scores yet." although i have a feeling that phrase is much much better than what it will be replaced by tomorrow.

5:10am. no scores yet my friends. 👎 why am i awake? it's like my body knew that someone mentioned 5am as a previous score release time. my eyes popped open like PING! mcat scores? no. no scores.
