Hello everyone,

I have been searching on US med school websites, but I couldnt find the course load required for each sessions. Do schools need full-time only or they accept part-time as well. What is the least number of courses per session one can enroll? Thank you

While there is some variation, a full course load for a med school would be the equivalent of about 21+ semester hours.

Some US medical schools do allow less than full-time schedules in the first and second year. Some even charge less than their set tuition and fees if you pick that option.

Thanks for the info, I am canadian so I dont know about credit hours. let's say 3 courses per session would be enough?

I believe the OP is asking if medical schools will accept UG degrees that were done on a part time basis or require that applicants have earned UG degree as full rime student. The answer is that there is no requirement that applicants have been full time students. However, medical schools want to see that you can handle the academic load and the applicant pool is mostly fulltime students. So not having at least some full time UG will reduce your competitiveness
Thanks, I have 2 years of full course load ( 5 courses each semester) and 1 year of 7 courses for the entire year, I was wondering if it is fine to have a semester with less than 3 courses and being part-time so that I can focus on mcat and write it by the end of May.
