I can basically graduate 1 year early, but plan on staying for a full four years if I receive the Goldwater scholarship (I would be invalidated if I graduate earlier). And because I am at a UC, I am rapidly approaching the maximum number of credits I am allowed to take. So I'm trying to keep my classes as light as possible for not only this, but also to free up some time during the day to pursue other things like more research, volunteering, and shadowing.
I took very heavy course loads as a freshman and sophomore, so I don't think adcoms would think I can't handle rigorous science classes. I also did very well in my first quarter of upper div classes. My cGPA and sGPA are both 3.9x. Now I just looked at some admissions sites and saw that they evaluate course loads...
Any reason to be worried?
