hello,
I need some opinions on my semester course load. In august i will be entering my second year of college. I will be taking 13 credit hours and the classes are general bio 2, general chem 1(retaking-failed last semester),pre calc(retaking-got D last semester), history 101, and biol 2 lab. The 2 bad grades are due to me not being fully dedicated last semester. should i add another class to my schedule or leave me schedule as it is?
Thanks

I personally would leave the schedule as it is. Since you have failed a class, and received a D in the other, it will be crucial to get A's throughout the rest of your collegiate career. These classes are not easy. I would focus on utilizing the extra time you have from the minimal credit load to really focus on getting good grades over taking more courses.

I myself finished my freshman year with a 2.75. I have since got my cumulative GPA up to a 3.4, my best advice would be to really utilize the ability to take an easier course load along with your difficult courses. You be able to prove that you can receive good grades and prove to admissions that it was a fluke semester.

I hope this answer helps, best of luck to you.

No, you failed these two classes, don't set yourself for failure
I mean gen chem is eassssssssy and you failed it! Pre-calc is not that easy but not that hard either.

Now you want to take BIOLOGY with them which is very hard!

Don't take bio and gen chem together, take gen chem + Pre-calc+ history + some other electives!

When I first started College, I took easy classes to warm up and get well acquainted with the college life.
I then started making it harder, more classes, more science classes together. Bio will swallow up all your time!
Don't take it with gen chem! You don't have to rush things, you just need a good gpa, your F and D will haunt you down if you didn't fix them first, you can worry about the course load later.

Off to a bad start, just keep it the way it is to get used to it.

I already took a bio class with both of them. Bio isnt my problem. For chem I didn't devote as much time as I should have and I went into the class thinking it was going to be easy, but it wasn't for me.

what did you get on Bio?

I got a B. Last semester I just wasnr devoted to my studies like I should have been . I though I was fully adapted to college because I got a 3.75 my first semester. Ive learned my lesson.

Leave it as is for now. When/if you do well next semester with 13 credits and you've gotten better adapted to college, then steadily increase the credits you take each semester.
