So I already scheduled my course for the fall semester of my freshmen year. I will attend a large state school. I am taking Chemistry, English, Math and an intro Psychology class. I am a Biochemistry major and these were the recommended classes as such. Would it be to my disadvantage if I took Biology my second semester or do a large portion of premed students take chemistry before biology?

At my school, most premeds took inorganic chem 1 before intro bio, but only because bio was a spring course. The info you'd get from chem isn't necessarily helpful for bio.

Don't you need to Chemistry for 2 semesters? You also need 1 year of math. What about Chem lab?

At my school chemistry is not a prerequisite for general biology classes. You are fine, just complete all required pre-med classes before the MCAT, nobody cares when you took them.

The order you take your pre req classes for med school don’t matter, as long as you have them you are good. Also, at my undergrad most pre meds took bio1 chem1 together in the first semester, but again, not a big deal if you do/don’t

1) Enjoy college
2) find a pre-med advisor
3) listen to pre-med advisor
4) do well in classes on your schedule
5) repeat #1

Seriously, you're what 18-19 years old and on a med school forum? You graduated from HS a month ago. Please relax. We worry about burn out and resident/med student wellness... this is why.
