I'm taking Physics for Bioscience w/ lab, Organic Chem w/ lab, and Cal II this semester. I'm thinking about dropping Physics lecture to save my grades in Cal II and Ochem. How badly does this hurt my chances for pharmacy school? I feel like it was a mistake to take this many hard classes in one semester. Is pharmacy school like this? I feel like I have no life. I wake, eat, and sleep studying or prioritizing. Does anyone know what happens to FAFSA aid if I drop?

I wake, eat, and sleep studying

that pretty much sums up my life since the semester started

I'd definitley drop physics, Calc II and Orgo will be on the PCAT so they are courses you should really know. Plus in general they are really important especually if you wanna do pharamcy (just in case).

Physics I believe is in the pre reqs just to see how you normally do in other science classes but more importantly its function is to piss you off.

Basic physics is very logical and not at all hard (now, thermodynamics - there we are talking 😀). However, if you don't have a good teacher, a bad prof can needlessly complicate it.

you might want to read your agreement...i know some aids require you take a certain amount of classes in order for you to receive it...when you say "save my grades", does that mean getting a C? or getting an A? how far are you into your quarter/semester? when are you applying? i don't think dropping a class will affect your chances as long as you take it another time...unless you can't drop and you get a D/F or a withdraw.

I dropped a physics class when I realized that previous classes already met the requirements needed. My FAFSA didn't change at all. Drop it to focus on the other classes, like the others said. Come back to it if you still need it as a pre-req. Even if you don't need it (some schools don't) it might be helpful. Physical Pharmacy in Pharm. school will be a little easier with it (it's also where you focus on thermodynamics like Hels mentioned!)

FASFA aside you're going to want to show the admissions committee in a year or so that you can handle a full course load. I know I personally had Physics, Ochem, and Anatomy all at the same time + all 3 had labs, and 2 other classes during the second year of pre-pharmacy. Once in the professional program there aren't options to drop out of classes when things start getting tough...
