Hi everyone,

Has anyone taken the CPJE for Sept and can share their experience?

I took mine today
I think I answered the majority of the questions right
But that’s how I felt last time and I got 73 🙂

Would you mind sharing what type of questions or topics they focused on?

Hope you pass this time, good luck!

I took mine 9/27. Thought questions were easy. Had a couple calculations questions though.

I had some really hard questions but also some really easy ones...I think I've counted like 12 questions I've missed so far, and those are only the ones that I remember :\ and to make it worse we have to wait at least another 5 weeks to get the results!

Is that ur first attempt?

Hello everyone! Goodluck for your results. What study materials you guys have used for CPJE? I have CPJE in November. Any input on online CPJE course by PassNaplexNow?

I predominately used rxprep cpje online course + book, information from the Script, and self-assessment forms. Took the exam today and was able to answer most of the law questions from these materials.

Thank you for your reply! So you did not use Weissman’s law book at all? Where will I find the Script? In the board’s website?
Could you please tell what are all the areas we should focus on more while preparing for CPJE? Thank you!

Hi there! I used Weissman for law - I would read it at least once, do the practice questions that come with the book...but don't spend too much time on it since there's probably 10% law on the CPJE. Current and previous Script issues are on the board website. The self-assessment forms are also on the board website and are good review for the requirements for outpatient, compounding, etc.

I had a lot of questions about specialty medications and a lot of brand/generic medications that were not top 300 and ones that didn't even have any commercially available generic out. I recommend studying the newer specialty medications that have come out in the past few years. That being said, the questions in general were very random - I had some very easy questions but also questions that I still haven't been able to find the answer.

I did not use Weissman to prep for the exam. Like Fishpharm said, the test is really random and there's no way of knowing what will be tested. So I probably spent 40-50% of my time studying law since those were the "easy" points and a topic that will definitely come up. For the clinical portion I picked random chapters (whatever topic I felt like learning that day) out of rxprep and studied the drug tables (brand/generic/indication/dosing/monitoring). Then I used Quizlets to reinforced what I just learned. I devoted a lot of time to ID/HIV since those were my weaker topics.

My test had NO calculations. Not one. Since I can't post actual questions, here's some general advice:
Know about the treatment of Myasthenia Gravis
Know which drugs can and cannot be "borrowed" from another pharmacy
Know who can enter a hospital pharmacy after-hours if no pharmacist present
Know about OTC sleeping pill ingredients and dosage

Hi everyone, good luck for those waiting on their results. 🙂 I was wondering if anybody is taking the CPJE in November next month 2017 or the end of October? Thanks.

Just wanted to give my take on the CPJE so that it might benefit others. Took 8/29/17 CPJE. A week prior I took the 78 question practice exam and scored an 86%. My CPJE score was 84. Maybe that practice exam is a decent barometer? Also, the Weissman law book was much more laborious and dry to read compared to the RxPrep law book. I recommend just doing the latter. More time efficient and a better experience. Weissman did not help at all.

It's hard for me to give advice on the clinical aspects of the exam. I have 10+ years of broad clinical experience, have BCPS, and am coming from out of state. I only used the RxPrep NAPLEX/CPJE study guide and hammered the material for 5 straight weeks. Exam was more dose and frequency focused than I had anticipated.

Good luck all!

Congrats on passing!! May I ask where do you get the 78 question pactice exam? I failed 2 times and so scared now to take the test again 🙁 Just CPJE

It's at the board's website: (can't share link because I'm too new, just google "CPJE practice exam")

I would wait to take it until you feel you are ready for the exam. Then schedule if you get a good score on practice exam.

oh no too bad im in OC 🙁((
