Hi All,

Bolded the main question below in case you want to skip my life-story🙂

So I bought CDP Ace yesterday and I loved it. I mean I got a 16 on the PAT which is atrocious, but I am sure it'll improve with practice.

Since I fell in love with CDP and I have like no RC practice questions, I bought Crack DAT Reading. I did my first test today and got a 22. Obviously I am going to do a few more and see but how does CDR compare to the real DAT (Difficulty and Question type)?

It seemed almost too easy because I haven't done any prep or practice in RC and I just flew through the test and got a 22. I remember from my days taking the SATs, the reading passages were my one and only fear so this 22 makes me sceptical. I am going to do another test today evening, will post up that score as well.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: By the way, CDR is in no way going to be my only RC source. I will be buying Topscore and Achiever as well, but for now, any insight would be much appreciated. I am trying to save as may full tests as I can to replicate the test closely as many times as possible.

EDIT 2: Just did test #2 and got a 21.

I have the CDT Royal bundle and I like it too. I'm curious to know about the CTD reading also, I haven't started doing mine yet. I agree on the PAT, but I feel it's good practice. I find, however, that the CDT science can be overly complicated and I get annoyed by the wording sometimes. I'm also hoping the CDT math is not like the real DAT!

I actually didn't get their science or math bundle since I had the Kaplan test bank which is excellent review (and very difficult as well). From what most people say here though, the practice stuff for Science ends up being a bit more difficult than the real thing. While I don't see how O-Chem or Gen Chem can be extremely difficult, I can see bio being random and just screwing you over in a heartbeat.

About math, I've heard its pretty brutal and you have to be good at mental math. My friend took the DAT last year and scored a 20 on QR despite being very good at math generally. As always though Math is conquered with practice so just do the 25 practice tests you bought and I am sure you'll be great.

If you are scoring 20+ on CDR, you should definitely score higher than 21 on the real RC.

Dont worry about PAT, you will be able to pick it up for 20+ score on the real deal by the time you take it as long as you practice consistently.
