I just put in a random answer for this question because all of them looked wrong. I don't quite get how they got C.

I remember having a problem with this question as well.

A can't be an answer because it has something sticking out right in the middle- and we dont have that in our image so we can eliminate that right away

B is not an answer because it has little triangles sticking out on both sides of the figure and we see by looking at our image that only one part of that little cube that's attached to the bigger rectangle is sticking out- not 2 parts, so we can eliminate this as well.

D and E look deceiving, but in D there are spaces between the recrangle and the figure that's sticking out and if you look at our original image- this is not the case. E looks super-deceiving because it matches our figure exactly...BUT..the distance between the side of the rectangle (left side in answer choice E) and where that triangular shape starts is bigger than the distance in the original image..therefore E is also eliminated (that distance is depicted on the right side in the original image..all they did was turn in 180 degrees counterclockwise.)

Now C is the only answer choice left. I think if you rotate it 90 degrees clockwise it will fit right through the keyhole...

hope this helped

I'm just getting more confused. The top image depicts the square being shorter than the rectangle while the front depicts it being longer than the rectangle while the answer depicts the corners being exactly parallel. I even tried to make this out of some blocks IRL and could not get the angles that looked ANYTHING like the proposed Top / Front images.
