In the exact same boat as you, I finally decided just to buy CDP RC today. Hopefully it'll be worth.

I just took the first test, and I'll just give you some info about it: Passage lengths were 15, 9, 9 paragraphs. There's a variety of tone/inference/detail/s&d/etc. questions. I scored a 21 (41 of 50) as an (maybe slightly below) average reader. I thought it was a bit easier than Bootcamp, which used to be horrible to me but is getting better. Overall, I think the $70 will be worth the added practice and more importantly confidence.

Thats great to know. Qvault was not to bad, the passages were pretty long and lots of info. What strategy are you using? Im still trying to figure out a method that works for me. I have been stuck at a 17 with my last 3 practice tests>

I thought the RC on Crack DAT was helpful. The only issue is the subject matter can be from a totally unrelated field, and the real DAT it is science based. I don't think this really matters because it's not the information that you're studying, but time management, types of questions, etc, and I think it is similar in those fronts. I only used Crack DAT for RC and got a 22.

Anything that works for you guys! Speed is definitely important but you don't want to read it all at once because honestly I just couldn't sit there and stare at a passage without doing anything. 21 isn't that bad in reading! Reading is about getting more used to it; that's it. Tone/inference you'll get the hang of as you do more reading. I think those questions probably separate 20/21 from 23-24+ in that section.
