I will be an assistant TA next semester for a Biology I lab. I get 2 credits of independent study and a letter grade which, the professor told me, is almost always an A. Does this get factored into the GPA at all and for medical school? Would medical schools view this as a cheap way of boosting the GPA especially if I continue this next year or would they include it like all my other classes?

And would this grade count for my cGPA or BCPM GPA?

Thanks, TheFool

Sup fool,

It'll count towards your cGPA, and whether or not it counts towards your BCPM GPA depends on what the course is titled, as well as however AMCAS decides to classify it when your application is verified.

As far as how the class will "look," it probably won't matter one way or the other. The only way something like this might matter is if you took the same course every semester/quarter.
