I received an email saying that the adcom was going to begin reviewing applications in "early October" and that in years past, they reviewed applications on Thursdays. Anyone have any inside information as to whether they will have their first meeting tomorrow, on 10/1? Just curious...and frantically obsessing!:xf::xf:
 
Wow, seriously? For distance and campus pathways? Yikes. I didn't think they'd start until closer to the priority deadline of Nov. 2. I've been waiting to submit mine until I had the money, but I guess I'd better get it done ASAP.

I guess I'll be obsessing with you... 😱 :xf:

I was curious does Creighton's Distant Pathways program require one year on O-Chem to be completed by the application deadline?

My guess: no, as long as it is finished before school starts.
My opinion: Have you already taken pcat? Sure does help to have all of it for the chem section. I think it is also one of those classes by which you are judged.
Definitive answer: call them and ask them!

Does that mean you got one - since you said "anyone else?" If so could you answer the following questions.
1. via email or what?
2. When did you receive confirmation your application was complete?

I haven't received an interview invite yet. I was just curious if anyone else has received an invite other than the couple of people who have already posted that they have received invites. I received confirmation that my application was complete on October 2nd.
 
They meet on Thursdays. The invitation comes via email. Mine came last Monday morning. Hopefully next monday will be your lucky day! :xf:

I am currently attending Creighton (I'm in the Campus Pathway... but the admissions requirements are the same). I was taking organic chem while I was applying and I (obviously) still got in. My undergrad school was on trimesters so I was able to submit one grade to them before they reviewed my file, but they might just wait to review it until you finish one semester if they are that concerned about an organic chem grade. I highly doubt that they are that concerned though, because my class is comprised of about 40% Creighton undergrads in the 2-4 program, who are also taking organic chem when they apply.
Also, about the PCAT and not having organic chem yet - I didn't have organic chem and got an 85 (which can't compare to the 97 that the person who made this comment got, but is still a decent score)... so if you study enough on your own it is possible. I wouldn't let it stop you from taking the PCAT and applying a year earlier.

Thank you so much for the information I am on a quarter system so I will have my O-Chem grade in March and as for taking the PCAT without having O-Chem complete I still want to give it to a chance.
However, I guess I am just worried about my application ever getting reviewed because taking the PCAT in January will need 6 weeks for scoring and the score would not arrive to Creighton till March along with my O-Chem grade.
I am just going to have to cross my fingers that my file gets reviewed. The distant pathways program is my first choice than California schools 🙄
 
AdCom needs to see 1 semester of OChem (or maybe one grade) in order to review the application. They put it on hold until the OChem grade is in.

If my application was complete early October, should I have heard something by now? Interview invite or rejection? I guess no news is still good news. Hmmm...the wait is dreadful.

Do you have one grade of OChem on your application, as well as PCAT score?
 
just got back from creighton, blew my freakin mind man!!!! woooo!!!!!
 
haahaaa, noooo, the school was amazing, it wasn't even a contender on my list, now I dont see how I can say no to them! omaha is ok, haahaa!!
 
I am dying here. Admin said my file was scheduled to be reviewed last week, but I have yet to recieve any indication one way or the other. So nervous...

Does anyone think the delay has to do with the people who were caught in the blizzards last week that had to reschedule interviews?

hard to say, becuase we dont know when you interviewed. what date did you interview? did they tell you 3 weeks?
 
I havent been invited for an interview yet. They said my file would be reviewed last week but I have not heard anything from them. Waiting sucks...

well, I submitted my app in 11-23, and they invited me for an interview on 1-21, so it was a two month wait for me. So you can expect that sort of time frame, I don't know when you submitted your app, but it takes them a bit to decide.

This was two years ago, but I had an interview in Jan, was waitlisted in March and finally pulled off at the end of May. All I can say is to keep doing the things you are doing...and keep your head up.
 
It all depends on how many applications there are to review - only a certain number can feasibly be reviewed each week. Also, if you don't have items in there could be a delay. The process takes time!
 
How long does the financial aid process take at Creighton? My backup school said they wanted all my fin aid submitted by March 1 and need my tuition deposit by March 21, also my wife is due March 19.... So I was hoping to get a Feb interview. Doesnt look like thats going to happen...

I interviewed on 2-12 and just got accepted today 2-25,

so those of you that interviewed on that day should be hearing soon!

I sent my app in on March 1st. Originally I was not going to complete my supp but I received a call from them so I decided to send it it. Still waiting to hear back though...

Not that I'm aware of. Are you for campus or distance? There is the other Creighton thread going on too and all seems to be quiet. My app was completed recently too and I'm just waiting. If they called you, they must be looking at your app very favorably. Which UC do you attend?

I am actually interviewing tomorrow.....However, I submitted all of my stuff early February,
-2/16 I received an email informing me that my app was complete and they would review it and determine if a interview was warranted (saying it takes typically up to 3 weeks, however during peak application times it may be longer).
-3/1 is when they invited me for an interview.
Not sure if that helps at all, but those were my time frames with some of the info they included in my emails.

I'm applying for the campus pathway. I know there is a distance thread is there a specific campus one also? I went to UCI for undergrad.
 
I just got an interview invite last Friday. The interview date is this coming Friday; I found out that it's the last day of their interview dates. I'm really nervous... but excited at the same time~ 😀

I got an invitation for 4/30 interview. Don't know if i should take it or not. Seems like the chance of gettin accepted is pretty slim.

Out of curiosity I ask why you think your chances are slim? When I went in to interview on the 9th (according to their website, that should have been the last interview date), someone told me that there are still 'spots' available, otherwise they wouldn't be interviewing at that time. So most likely there are more available, otherwise I don't think they would have added another date. I'd recommend going unless you have already been accepted by another school.
 
I work with one of the admissions advisors from Creighton and she told me that they are still accepting students. I just declined my invitation to go to Creighton so I know there is at least one position available right now. Definitely give it a shot; you never know unless you try. Good Luck!
 
I appreciate everyone's input and words of encouragement. My last thought about this school is, are they still giving out scholarship. Does anyone know anything about this?

Their website states, "A limited number of merit- and/or need-based scholarships are available for entering students. In order to receive full consideration, the admission application and interview must be completed by April 1." However, maybe due to the fact that they extended their application deadline date this year to March 1, the scholarship deadline date has also been extended. I wish I had asked, but I didn't. You should give the office a call. They are very friendly over there. Maybe their answer will help you decide on whether or not to go to the interview. If you do find out the answer, let me know. I'm now curious too.
 
4/13 - I received a letter stating that I was placed on an alternate list, the letter was actually dated 4/6.

Today I Just received a call letting me know that my application had been reviewed again and I was accepted, she said the letter went out Monday.

Anyways there is movement from the alternate list, I also have a friend that told me that he was taken off the alternate list to interview on 5/3. So it seems there are definitely still seats available.

Thanks, ya I am really excited, I could hardly believe it was happening, especially since the alternate letter said I shouldn't expect anything until closer to the end of May. Ya by the sound of it, they will be holding at least one more day of interviews.

I doubt it, but that is just a guess. I don't see any reason for them to change it up.
