Isn't the point of you going to Creighton so that you can learn about the school?...It's not like they are going to be expecting you to already know things about the school being it is not a formal interview.

Umm, is it an actual interview, or did you set it up yourself?

If you set it up yourself, then I would tell you to cancel your airline ticket and save yourself some time and money.

If that needs any further explanation I'll be happy to clarify.

If THEY asked you for an interview, then relax and enjoy it.

I hope you enjoy your trip....let us know how it went when you get back.

Gavin,
Why do you say that? Why so harsh!

He said that because Creighton doesn't interview out of state. If you are an out of stater then it is just a visit to the campus. It doesn't help the admissions process from what I hear. That is why I didn't schedule one. I could be wrong but that is what I was told from a Creighton graduate.

My interview at Creighton went really well. Contrary to my expectation, i got to meet with Dr. Ayers, director of admissions, and he totally treated it as a real interview. He even took notes. during my visit, i saw 5 other interviewees, 2 of which were from ID and CA and they had scheduled their interviews themselves. the rest were from ND and UT and maybe they were invited, but i am not sure.
i honestly think the interview does carry some weight in the process, maybe not too much, but when you give the ad com an opportunity to put a face next to a pile of papers, you help them deciding. Dr. Ayers told one of the interviewees "you look better in person than on paper." That can mean a lot. Its very possible that they take into account that you were so serious about the school that you decided to go and see the school on your own.

p.s: i have posted my interview feedback
