I got an email today from Creighton inviting me for an interview. I'm ecstatic! I'm hoping to get the December 5 date. Has anyone else heard back from Creighton yet?
Wow! Did you apply to the campus or distance program? What were your stats if you don't mind sharing?

I applied for distance. I have a 4.0 and 99 composite pcat, so I assume my interview was probably automatic based on those alone.

Congrats to you on the invite! I thought they start contacting applicants in January. I think I better start working on the supplemental next week once I'm done with the other supplemental apps.

Yeah, I would say so... That is awesome- good luck but I'm sure you won't need it!!

i doubt it. This is not a solely grades-based school in terms of admissions. Just realize that you still must do well in the interview. Communication skills are huge here.

Do you think a 3.61 overall (~3.94 over the last ~80 credits/all prereqs) and a 7🙁 PCAT get me an interview for the distance pathway?? I was stressed when I saw the 71 PCAT score but now I'm REALLY stressed seeing the 4.0/99PCAT. Be honest with me guys, I can take it even if it hurts!

Yes, I was just wondering if these stats would get me an interview where I CAN use my good communication skills? 🙂

I didn't mean I would get admitted based on those. I know I have to do well in the interview. I just assume my interview invitation was automatic based on it. The reason I have for suspecting that was I got an email saying my application was complete and they would begin reviewing it at 8:27 AM, then I got the interview invite email at 8:37 AM. I don't think that's enough time to review the whole application with both essays as well as all the biographical parts of the application. I will definitely be treating this interview as if my grades/PCAT don't exist.
I received an interview invite last week for the campus pathway.
Has anyone gotten an interview invite, that is not applying for the Distance Pathway?
I applied for campus pathway and received an interview invite last week.
Anyone else here interviewing on Dec 5?

yeah
I'm currently in the distance class of 2012 at Creighton. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck everyone on your interviews!
Hey guys! I have an interview for distance pathway on 12/5. (!) I have to fly in and stay in a hotel. I'm looking for a hotel that has a shuttle to airport and a shuttle to campus. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure of any that have shuttles from the airport. Many of the ones close to campus have shuttles going to campus, though.
I've been to Omaha 4 times now and have stayed at the Hilton by the civic center, the Redick downtown, the Howard Johnson about 15 minutes west of campus, and the Best Western right off of campus. I'd suggest the Hilton or Redick. The HoJo and Best Western weren't very nice, for the most part.

I am in the distance class of 2012. My classmate says:
Best Western Seville Plaza has a shuttle that can take you to campus. I was really happy with the shuttle service and hotel overall.

+1.
I would suggest Doubletree downtown if you have the $...although I don't really know how much it is.

Yeah, that is a little quick, so you may be right about that...good luck next Friday.

congratulations!! i didn't even finish my supp app 😳
Hey i'm going to be at the 12/5 interview and spending the night in Omaha (leaving on 12/6)... I wondered if anyone else going for an interview wanted to eat dinner afterwards and discuss how things went at interview and how overall interviewing/deciding process was going. Might be fun
Um this is not really based on this thread, but I went to one of the college fairs at my highschool and one of the admission representatives of Creighton told me there was a 6 year pharmacy program at Creighton University...
But I heard from some people that they dont have one... Can somebody please tell me for sure if Creighton University has a 6 year Doctor of Pharmacy program(undergrad. program, so right after high school.) It would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.
Oh and good luck to your interview!

I finally submitted my supplemental app today. I guess I'll try to hopefully shoot for the January interview dates. Good luck to those who will be interviewing this Friday!

Nope, no 6-year pharmacy program. What they were probably referring to, and needed to be updated on is: CU, I think as of this year or last year maybe, decided not to give automatic interviews to those completing pre-reqs with high grades and credit loads at CU. So, previously you could get an automatic interview in 2 years, plus 4 years of pharmacy classes, for 6 years total. But they now don't do it. If you do your pre-reqs at CU, there's no automatic interview at this point.
Hey good luck to all the Creighton interviewees going tomorrow!

I will see you there!🙂

I will see you there!🙂
I just got an email that I got an interview at creighton! I am so excited! any suggestion? for example...what kinds of things do they ask?
I'd say take a look at some sample med school/pharm school interview questions. Also, (and this goes for any school) be prepared to answer why you chose to go into pharmacy and why you chose to apply to their particular program.

Hope your interviews are going well....mwahahahaha (lightning bolt)
...just kidding. I have nothing to do with admissions.
...just kidding. I have nothing to do with admissions.

I was also asked about volunteer work, why I chose pharmacy, and how do I plan to balance my time with work/school/family.
I only remember them asking like 3 questions, then I babbled the rest of the time. It was very relaxed and my interviewers (one current student, one faculty) were very nice and accommodating. I, of course, was nervous beyond belief, but they exuded calm and truly made me feel welcome.
If I could give any tip, I'd say show your passion for the profession and why you think Creighton would be your school of choice. Even if you aren't religious, point out how the Ignation Values apply to you and your belief of how patients should be cared for. Truly, you don't have to be any kind of religious to realize that the values are important for health care professionals from MD's to receptionists.
For what it's worth, a very high percentage of the people that were chosen for interviews were accepted (either directly or as an alternate). I don't remember the exact number, but it was something like 81 interviews and 75+ accepted (with room in the program for 55, so that counts the alternates). There were near 600 applicants. All of these numbers apply to the distance program, not the campus one.
And if you are chosen as an alternate, don't lose hope. Several of my classmates were on that list. In fact the woman I sat next to during one of the orientation days say she was given her final "yes" 2 days earlier and had to really hustle to make the trip.
Seriously, PM me if you have any detailed questions because I enjoy helping folks meet their goals.

What is the interview day like? How many people interview on a single day? Is it a group interview and who does the interviewing?

My interview started with registration and subsequent mingling. The faculty and some students came out and spent some time talking with us. We, then, as a whole group, had presentations about the college, the field of pharmacy, and financial aid. We then split up into groups. There was a special information session for the distance pathway and the campus group did tours. There were presentations on organizations and opportunities. There was also a student panel. My interview was the very last thing of the day. It was me being interviewed by two faculty members. There were 6 pairs of interviewers. I was asked why I chose pharmacy, why Creighton, how comfortable I am with technology, about my service work, what was my favorite class, and what I like to do for fun. The interview itself was very relaxed. It was definitely more like carrying on a conversation than it was being drilled. I hope this helps!
I submitted all my material in the 17th of Sept. How long does it take to hear back about an interview? thanks.

You should have heard back by now. Did you submit your supplemental application? If so, call the school. They have been reviewing applications weekly since early November, and if yours was complete you'd have heard something by now.
Good luck!

I submitted my PharmCAS a while back, but submitted the supplemental app on December 1st (the preferred deadline). I still haven't heard anything from them. 🙁

Oh alright, I'll try be patient. 😀
Hey I just wanted to say that Creighton is awesome and they treat you very well there. The facilities are new, and the faculty, staff and student guides are trying their very best to make the interview day as friendly and stress-free as possible. Omaha impressed me as well.
Good luck to everyone applying! (me included)😀
