Creighton Interviews

Does anyone know how many people were pulled from the alternate list in May last year? How many during the summer?

I am considering retaking the PCAT this summer. I have a score of 82 composite. Chem and Biol pcat scores were in the 90s; however, I did poorly on the Math section. I have A's in my math classes, so I know that I can do better if I study this summer and take the August exam. I have so many courses that retaking any of them would only boost my gpa in the thousandths place.

Those of you that have been on a waitlist before, should I contact the school and let them know that I am Clep testing out of a course they required me to take, that I am getting my vaccines, I have filed FAFSA, and have my transcript sent to them just so it is ready? Also, would it hurt to ask how I could improve my application for next year?

B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry
GPA 3.32 sGPA 3.15

Does anyone know how many applicants got interviewed from the alternate list in the past? I really wonder approximately how many people are in the alternate list without interview and the chances of getting picked from this pool. I'm just curious if any current Creighton pharmacy student knows the answer to this.

I know of at three people in my class who got in between May and August. However, they all had interviews I believe before.

Why are you retaking the PCAT? To 'up' your chances for this fall, or for next year? If it's the former, I doubt it would make a difference, since your results would come after classes start (they start really early at CU).

It sounds to me that you may have gotten pretty low in the non-science PCAT areas. Those are what I'd be concerned with, not your sciences. Creighton looks just as much at the verbal, reading comp, and writing (I'm likely a testament to that) as they do the sciences. Boost those areas if anything, for next year.

I don't know what the Clep is, so can't help there.

Vaccines they won't care about, because you have until the end of your P1 year to get them done.

FAFSA can be completed in a week, so they likely won't care about that (at least Hep, and I think the others, too).

Transcripts can be gotten in a week, too, so again, I doubt they would care about it.

Sorry to sound harsh.

What I'd suggest is to call and ask what areas you need to improve on. They, from what I've heard, will be honest with you.

Remember, they are looking for well-rounded, mature, professional people above anything else. You'll get that pounded in to your brain your first year here 🙂

Also, I know 1 gal in my class got pulled off the waitlist right before distance "Welcome Week," so around end of July. She did interview previously.

I just got a call from Creighton and was accepted from the waitlist

Congratulations!! Anyone know anything about Omaha? I'm moving from Colorado and am looking for some good advice on places to live, avoid, etc.

I got a call yesterday as well, and I'M GOING TO CREIGHTON!!!😀

I just wanted to thank everyone here for their sincere support. I feel the people contributing their experiences and offering friendly advice has definitely helped me learn so much this year through my application process.

🙂THANK YOU!🙂

CONGRATULATIONS!!! THAT IS FABULOUS NEWS! YAY FOR YOU!🙂

Also got in from the alternate pool.

Now I need to choose between UH Hilo and Creighton...this is going to be a harder decision than I thought!😱

CONGRATS TO ALL!!! It's a wonderful feeling to have all of that waiting behind you isn't it?! To all of those who made it into the distance pathway, please check out the facebook page we have going so we can meet you! The group is Creighton Web-Based Pharmacy Class of 2012.
I look forward to august so we can all meet face to face!

I agree. We definately need a campus based facebook. I'm not so facebook savvy but I'd love to meet everyone before orientation in August. Let me know!

Sorry to jump in and change subjects a little, but Creighton web based is my #1 choice and I am going back and forth between doing a reasonable schedule and applying NEXT summer for 2010 or doing a semi crazy schedule and applying this year for next year. I take Bio II and Org I this fall so I could attempt the PCAT in October, but most likely my best bet would be January for a good score. Did anyone get accepted after a January PCAT?

I don't know if Creighton accepts the January PCAT. Check their website

for more info. I took the PCAT in October.
