I was recently accepted to Creighton OT. I was wondering if anyone is a current student or is also thinking of going there. It is a really expensive school so i was hoping for some advice weather it is worth going to. I know it is a great program and you get your OTD degree instead of a masters. i am also accetped to the University of South Dakota, which is where i am for my undergrad, and it extremely less expensive. I know that the pay difference wont be much different right out of school, but if anyone could help and give some advice if it is worth going to the better, yet much more expensive school.
Thanks

I was wondering which school you decided to go with and if you can recall your interview questions?

VermOt,

One thing I learned this year that was helpful about Creighton is that they have a very large endowment fund. There fund in 2010 was something like 253 million. There was information in US News and Reports regarding how much the tuition is and what students end up spending. They were ranked very well compared to other private schools Mind you that is primarily for undergrads I am sure but still good to know.

That being said though, I turned down the interview last year because reality of the the tuition hit me. I couldn't realistically afford the student debt if I got in. But looking back I wish I had not been so blinded by the cost and asked them more questions directly.

I would call their financial aid office and address your concerns. Get a feel for what their average graduate student in OT is able to do with the tuition.. work study, grants, scholarships. I think it will still be costly (compared to Unv. of South Dakota) but from what I know now Creighton tries hard to keep the cost lower than the actual tuition numbers listed.

I think Unv. of South Dakota is just as fantastic based on what I have seen. Congrats on getting in there and good luck with your choices!

I applied to the program last month
do they start reviewing after the November 1st deadline or is it rolling
i haven't heard back from them. they said my app was complete thought

I sent my application in on september 19th for the OTD campus pathway. I received my email saying I have an interview December 14th! I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who is going to be interviewing that same day. I live FAR from Nebraska and am flying out there the day before. I would love to get aquanted with a fellow occupational therapy student hopeful. It is always comforting to know someone going through the same process as you 🙂. Good luck!

I applied september 19th and I received an email this week. It might take some time. Good Luck!

I am very interested in Creighton but I see they do not have a minimum GPA on their website. Can you provide your stats and any qualities that helped you gained acceptance into the program?

Thanks.

Did anyone here apply to Creighton OT school? How long did it take to hear back from them after your application was complete, and how did you hear back (mail, email, etc)? My application was complete in February and I know the last interview is in April.

How was your interview with Creighton? I am also applying for OTD and the interview is tomorrow. What actually they ask in the interview?
