Creighton V. Carver

I really like Creighton - great interview experience very late in season (March 17th) and accepted. Interview in Iowa was very awkward, waitlisted at Carver and just got offered spot in class today. I guess I feel like Carver is more highly esteemed but I personally like Creighton/Omaha area better than Iowa...

Personal Pros

Creighton - Morals/personal philosophy well aligned, felt like best fit of all school I interviewed at, met many M2/M3s very friendly, currently found housing with M3, loved the area (Omaha)

Carver - rated better, more match options as far as specialties, supposedly better hospitals for M3/M4 clinicals, slightly less expensive tuition but only $2000/year so not a real factor

Personal Cons:

Creighton - less opportunities possibly (research-wise etc), not as well ranked

Carver - very awkward interview experience, I think I enjoyed it otherwise but was longer time ago, not as "homey" feeling

Exactly correct, I've been to creighton twice and loved it, only been to Iowa once and it was back in November and I don't truly remember how I felt, thinking about making the long haul back to see what it's like again - thoughts?? You are right though that I'm leaning towards Creighton I just feel like 9 of 10 people would tell me I made the wrong decision based on rankings.. and I suppose I wouldn't disagree but I like Creighton's Christian values and everything else I mentioned and I'm wondering just how important it is where specifically you went to medical school when you try to match and how it affects your scores and competitiveness for residencies??

From what I have found on internet it appears Carver students score slightly above national average and Creighton slightly below...
