Creighton (Phoenix)

Pros
* Creighton in general is a more established school - may be important since step 1 is now p/f?
* New building and facilities
* Opportunities for leadership- establishing new organizations on campus, etc.
* Closer to home, family, and friends (I’m from the west coast)
* Will be the first M1 class on campus so less competition for resources(?)
* Matches well to competitive specialties
* Research opportunities at Barrow, Mayo, ASU, U of A
* More fun things to do in the area, warmer weather

Cons
* New campus so less established opportunities
* Unsure of how PDs would view the new campus (even though it’s under the same accreditation as Omaha campus and M3/M4s have been rotating here for >10 years)
* Honors/pass/fail grading

OUWB

Pros
* Partnered with Beaumont Health which is Michigan’s largest hospital system
* Emphasizes research
* Matches well to surgical specialties
* Really enjoyed my interview day here - felt welcomed by interviewers and students

Cons
* Far away from home
* Newer school
* H/P/F, need to attend >70% lectures for honors
* Located in a suburban area, has way colder weather

May I ask why H/P/F grading is a con for both schools?

I assume both schools have it and it sucks. Sounds like OP liked OUWB better.
I am currently in a H/P/F curriculum and it does not suck. Honors is simply there for people to challenge themselves and has no effect on residency matching as there is no internal class rank. They put honors in there otherwise people would simply study only enough to pass.
