Hey these are a couple questions for anyone who has gone through Creighton's distance pharmacy welcome week, do they give you a drug test during welcome week? Also, how late do activities go on the last day?

No drug test during welcome week. You do have a background check prior to that, though.

Check the website to see what time you get out the last day - it varies from year to year.

They weren't planning to require a drug test until the Dean read your post.

lol, yes I'm sure the Dean is going to track my IP to find out my identity and then plan out a drug test just for me......anyways, thanks for the info drugdoc!

I love these types of questions...you are essentially admitting to drug use. (Oh, internet anonymity....) No, there are no drug tests (for distance or campus welcome weeks, as of last year).

Expect welcome week activities to go right up to the time it says on the schedule.

Its not that hard for the dean to get someone else to do it for him ;P

Hey at least I ask an honest question, I'm sure I'm not the only one who wanted the answer to that question, but put me on the cross anyways...stone the hippies and burn their devil plant!!!

I said nothing as to whether or not a certain plant should be legalized or not... I actually think that it should be legalized. I'm just pointing out the humor in essentially admitting to an illegal act online.

P.S. SDN does track IP's and can be subpoenaed to give up this information in criminal proceedings. 👍

I would be entertained to see what you think on the legalization issue, though. I don't think it makes sense to have it be illegal, especially with its therapeutic index being very high (slim to no chance of overdose). If it were taxed at the same rate as cigarettes are in this country, we'd be fixing two problems: the Federal budget deficit and a major part of the drug war.

True, but wouldn't that be some sort of violation of my rights to privacy and free speech?

Since I'm not a lawyer, I definately can't give you the right answer to this.

But anyone else see any irony to this. 😛

Yes, but if American culture wasn't so uptight and prissy then maybe I could just call the school and ask them, but since the drug nazis decided to give that certain plant the most inaccurate negative connotation, I am forced to ask this question online.

I'm not worried about criminal proceedings as I am not a frequent user (anymore) and I am not involved in trafficking, I am just planning a last hooray camping trip and I needed this information to pick the date before or after.

As far as the legalization issue, there's really no ethical reason for the plant to remain illegal. When you consider the fact the legal drugs kill exponentially larger amounts of people than the plant, and the gateway theory that the nazis rely on can be proven true for alcohol and cigarettes as well, so it really is an irrelevant point. The numbers are the most solid proof of why it should be legalized and the potential benefits in healthcare, economy, environment, reduction of crime, etc. just make it insane that the minority of fear mongers are maintaining their stranglehold on society when all the research points to the benefits. The real question for the powers that be then becomes, should we legalize this harmless plant and let society reap the benefits, or should we keep it illegal fueling the black market and tearing society apart? It's a question of improving the country and bringing the classes closer together, or further distinguishing the classes so that the well-off can better themselves at the expense of the middle and lower class.
