Creighton

Does anyone know if you still have a high chance of acceptance if you are on the alternate list. Also has anyone on the sdn been removed from the alternate list.

Calidenti-

I was in the same position as you last year, on the waiting list for Creighton. I spoke to Dr. Ayers about my chances of being accepted and/or what my rank was in the alt. list. He said that they do not rank applicants on the list, but rather review all of the waiting list applicants again once a spot opens. Last year, only 3 spots opened.

In my opinion, I think that there is a rank, so if you have really solid stats compared to the others waitlisted, there is a chance- although slight. Keep in mind that the class size is only about 84 students. Good luck!

I am going to Creighton next year. Recently, I called the financial aid office to ask about housing, and they told me to put off campus on my fafsa as my housing selection. My friend who goes there said that most of the students live in apartments that are about 5-10 minutes (driving) away from the dental school. Hope that helps

I was in Omaha last weekend checking out the lay of the land.

Coming from the most expensive region in the US to live (silicon valley) I could not believe how inexpensive the homes were, especially in an area called Dundee. I was very surprised with Omaha and the school, definitely a great place to spend 4 years.

I'm still exploring my living options for this fall at Creighton. A couple of people told me that you can get your own apartment for $275/ month. Another option is to buy a university owned apartment for $7000 to live in for four years. Not a bad deal since you wouldn't have to worry about the rent. After the four years, you could sell the apartment which would be easy because it's owned by the school.

I don't know...it sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure if I want to live in the same place for four years.
